How story with Cocoa Village Guest house started

In the year 2007 Matevz has decided to travel with a bicycle around Burkina Faso. After a while he got bored in this desert flat country so he crossed the border and  continued his journey to Ghana. People he met on his way adviced him to stop at the crater lake Bosumtwi.

He found the lake Bosumtwi one of the moste beautiful and atractive places he has seen during his journey. Following year he returned with his friend Tomaz and they bought 1 acre of land on the shore of the lake where Cocoa Village guest house is situated now.

The houses were putting up slowly during the summer time for the past five years. In the year of 2013 the guest house was completed and Matevz and Tjasa made an important decision. They left their family and friends and came to live in a small village Anyinatiase. Since then the Cocoa village guest house is open.

Cocoa Village Guest house is small hotel and restaurant located on the shore of Lake Bosumtwi near Kumasi. It is located in the heart of the lake surrounded with hills and cocoa plantations.

At the moment we offer accommodation in three independent bungalows with bathroom. Staying in traditional built atta kwame bungalow are unique experience which can be enjoyed in Cocoa Village Guest house. Bungalows can accommodate single couples or four person family’s. We also offer simple accommodation for single person in our wooden stake house where three separate rooms are available. In each room 6 beds are available.

Camping in tent is also possible!

 

Restaurant is located on the shore of Lake Bosumtwi. Staying in Cocoa Village Guest house is simple but unique chill out experience. In the morning fishermen’s from near village can be observed at their daily work.We are serving delicious meals in our lake side restaurant. Every moment of your stay will be accompaniment with magic colours of the lake and their surroundings, songs of the exotic birds and scene from everyday villager’s life.

At Cocoa Village Guest house you will find a garden, terrace and bar. Other facilities offered at the property include a shared lounge, a tour desk and laundry facilities. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, including cycling, horse riding, canoeing, top of the crater and around the lake hiking, fishing.

We also organizing special 6 days tours from Kumasi to Mole national park.

From November of 2014 inside of our new Art studio we also offer a wide range of art workshops of traditional batik making, postcard printing, weaving Kente…
